Winchester House

Winchester House is wonderful West London wedding venue on the banks of the River Thames. As a London wedding photographer, I can instantly see what a truly unique venue the Winchester House is. Just from walking through the doors, it’s easy to see why Laura and Tom chose it for their wedding.

The wedding couple

The first time I met Laura and Tom was actually at Helen and Eric’s wedding earlier this year. They were both lovely to talk to and Laura had lots of questions for me about photography. At first I was convinced that Laura was just a keen photographer. It wasn’t until a few weeks later that I discovered that they wanted to book me for their wedding.

I’d given them my card during our quick chat and then they sent me a lovely email. In it they had asked me to be their wedding photographer at Winchester House. Of course, I said that I would love to.

The bridal prep

Laura started her day with her bridesmaids at the couples’ new home in St Margarets, London. It was a lovely and airy space, with the feel of a show home – Laura obviously new a thing or two about style.

Everyone chose to start the day early, to be sure that they’d be ready and have time to relax before the wedding ceremony. With their hair and makeup finished in record time, they could all reflect on the last few years that Laura and Tom had been together and their future lives together.

Winchester House ceremony

I set off to meet Tom at Winchester House for a few photos and then made my way back to the street to catch Laura arriving in her wedding car.

With Winchester House being situated on the banks of the River Thames, every window let in such beautiful lighting. The venue has three distinct spaces, the reception room, ballroom and library. Each one has its own character that perfectly added to the feel of the whole wedding day.

From walking down the aisle to the exchanging of the rings and heading out of the ceremony together, followed by confetti, Laura and Tom both looked amazing. I had to take advantage of their immediate happiness and capture a few pictures of them together. As the night set in, we continued and incorporated the warming glow of Winchester House’s lamps and the surrounding candles.

Wedding Breakfast

The lighting during the wedding breakfast and the speeches at Winchester House had a beautiful white and purple glow. I’ve been a London wedding photographer for over 300 weddings and I still love the colours that can be created from this light.

There were so many smiles during the speeches and I had to have a little chuckle at times. It was lovely to see so many people happy for this wonderful couple. When the first dance came, everyone wanted to capture the moment to treasure forever and then they all joined the couple on the dance floor.

It was a beautiful wedding. I hope that Laura and Tom can look back at these photos for years to come and remember this perfect day forever.
