You may think that winter weddings would prove to be challenging for London wedding photographers but actually, the dark wet days coupled with the glow of illumination from street lamps and buildings can be really atmospheric. A good wedding photographer works with what they have and always sees new opportunities rather than challenges to be overcome, so I was thrilled therefore to be invited to be a part of the Guildhall London wedding photography for Anjuli and James at the end of 2012.

The Guildhall in London has been a town hall for hundreds of years, since 1411 in fact and so Anjuli and James joined generations of couples who have tied the knot in this historic and beautiful building.

The Guildhall truly does capture your imagination, both inside and out and is a great London wedding venue with so many striking features. No matter how large the wedding party, the Guildhall in London just seems to swallow them up in its majesty. The staff are also amazing and were on hand at every stage making sure that all ran smoothly.

I was first asked to be the Guildhall London wedding photographer by Anjuli and James who had come across my wedding photography at St Lawrence Jewry which is where Abby and Nathan had been married. Anjuli and James loved my wedding photography and so because they are both based in Singapore we chatted over Skype and set up a date to meet.

It’s fair to say that the weather on the day was atrocious but that did nothing to dampen the spirit of the wedding party and so I was able to capture some brilliant reportage wedding photographs as the bride and her entourage relaxed and got ready for the ceremony.

The rain did let off a little to allow me to get a few outdoor wedding photographs before we hurried back into the warm and welcoming retreat of the Guildhall.

My second photographer, Martin Hobby, my assistant Pete Denness and myself were treated like family by the staff at the Guildhall and I am most grateful to the Head Wedding Planner there and to Jemma Beattie at The Perfect Wedding Company for keeping me updated about the wedding plans and for being so generous with their time.

I loved being the Guildhall London wedding photographer and I really do hope that I get another chance to do the same, so if you are planning a wedding at the Guildhall in London, do give me a call!

Anjuli and James says “Thank you so much for uploading the images on to your website so promptly after our wedding. Having reviewed all of the images, James & I wanted to express our sincere thanks for the wonderful selection of photos that you’ve provided. You’ve captured our day beautifully – from our portrait shots to the ad hoc photos during the day and the posed group shots – and provided a lasting record of what was a wonderful day for us. You were a delight to have around on our wedding day & we’ve already provided your details to friends who are planning their weddings, so hope to see you again soon!”
