Hindu Wedding Photography – I was absolutely thrilled and delighted to be asked to be the honorary Asian wedding photographer at Kiran and Samir’s Hindu wedding. I have specialised in Hindu wedding photography before, but this was without doubt one of the most intimate and loving of Hindu weddings I’ve had the pleasure of being involved with.
Kiran, who is originally from Canada, was to wed her Liverpudlian fiancé Samir at Duffield House in Buckinghamshire with just 60 of their closest family and friends in attendance.
Getting to Know You
I first met up with Samir a few months ago when we both enjoyed a coffee together in The Ritz, London whilst discussing plans for their forthcoming wedding. Kiran was still in Canada at that point, so my main contact was Sam. Kiran had put her trust in us to make all the necessary arrangements!
I didn’t get to meet Kiran until a few weeks before the wedding and I think I was as anxious to meet her at that point as she was to meet me! Now I realise that every wedding photographer will say how lovely the bride and groom were, but these two were a genuinely lovely couple who went out of their way to make me feel welcome and at home whenever we met and especially on the day of their wedding. Their love for each other shone through and I felt confident then that I could fulfil my role as Asian wedding photographer quite successfully as these two were clearly naturals.
The Vibrancy of Hindu Wedding Photography
Hindu wedding photography focuses on the bright, rich colours present in the wedding ceremony and neither could I resist a few detail shots of the intricate fabrics and jewellery involved. The deep ruby reds in particular looked stunning, particularly when set against a white backdrop.
Sam and Kiran had opted to have both a traditional Hindu ceremony, which is where those rich, vibrant red colours came in and also a more modern civil ceremony. This meant Kiran changing her stunning red robes for a no less gorgeous, detailed blue and white outfit whilst Sam changed his Indian attire for a more sombre blue suit.
Your Intimate Wedding Portfolio
As you can see from my special selection of photographs, the couple’s happiness and love for each other really does shine through and the guests look genuinely thrilled for them. It was truly a great honour for me to have been involved in Sam and Kiran’s Hindu wedding.
If you are planning a Hindu or Indian wedding and are looking for an Asian wedding photographer or someone who has experience with Hindu wedding photography then look no further than me. I make every effort to personally get to know my clients and spend a good deal of time with them so that I can produce both traditional wedding photographs and reportage wedding photography that successfully documents the story of their union.
