House of Commons Wedding – Towards the end of November Barbara and Jeremy got married at the Palace of Westminster aka the House of Commons, aka Houses of Parliament, take your pick 🙂 It was a small and intimate wedding with their close family and friends.
I met up with the couple before the wedding at the Meridien Hotel on Piccadilly. The staff at the Meridien were lovely and allowed us to grab some photos in their impressive hotel. As Barbara and Jeremy were keen for some iconic photos around London we decided to use the locations on our doorstep and so headed to Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street.
As someone who is fascinated with UK history and in particular the workings of Parliament it was buzz to photograph another wedding at one of the worlds most iconic locations. I photographed a wedding earlier this year at the House of Lords and previously I photographed another wedding at the House of Commons.
The ceremony was held in The Jubilee Room, which is in the annex of Westminster Hall. After some post ceremony mingling we all walked through the historic Westminster Hall , stopping for a group photo on the steps.
I grabbed the couple for some dramatic photos in the ornate Stephen’s Hall before leaving them to enjoy their wedding breakfast in the Strangers’ Dining Room.
I’d like to thank Barbara and Jeremy for asking me to photograph their wedding. I was delighted to receive this lovely message from them on their honeymoon and am looking forward to joining them for a glass of wine very soon.
