April last year Sarah and Lee sent me an email to see if I was available to shoot their June 2015 wedding in Greenwich London. The plan was to have the ceremony at the Rangers House, which is situated next to Greenwich Park and the reception at the Greenwich Yacht Club. Although the wedding was still well over a year away I’ve been doing weddings long enough to know that time flies and before too long the wedding day would be on us. Before the day we did get to meet up again and this time we walked around Rangers House as this was the first time for me shooting there. I was introduced to Sarah’s parents, the lovely Linda and Simon and walking away after the meet up I had a really nice feeling about this wedding.
As predicted Sarah and Lee’s wedding day was on us in a flash and myself and my Assistant/Second Photographer John Erskine arrived early at Sarah’s house to photograph the bridal prep. It was then that Sarah’s Dad gave me some wise words on shooting group photos. The best way to get a reaction isn’t to say “cheese”, but to say “Lesbian”. Well it certainly made me laugh.
After the ceremony we all drove the 5 miles or so to the Greenwich Yacht club. What an incredible venue Greenwich Yacht Club is. Sarah and Lee had hired the River Rooms for the reception and the amazing Florist (Mimi Fleur) whose work I’ve seen before had done an incredible job with the flowers.
A big thanks to Sarah and Lee for asking me to be their wedding photographer. Also thanks to William and his team at the Greenwich Yacht Club for all their help.
