Middle Temple Wedding Photography – I’ve walked past The Honourable Society of Middle Temple many times but didn’t really know its history or much about it until Katie and Laurence contacted me early last year to discuss their wedding. Built in the 1500’s just off Fleet Street for the Legal profession and pretty much unchanged since then it has to be one of the most amazing wedding venues in London.

Katie and Laurence’s plan was for the wedding to be at Middle Temple followed by cocktails and the reception at Coq D’Argent in the City of London. Coq D’Argent I am familiar with as I’ve enjoyed a cocktail or two there when I use to work for a Commodities Broker in the City in the late Noughties. It was nice going back in a profession that I love as a wedding photographer.

In contrast to the traditional and imposing feel of Middle Temple, Coq D’Argent is very contemporary, glamorous and modern. It’s not the sort of venue you just happen to stumble upon, as it sits on the roof of No 1 Poultry building. I was inspired as I stood on the lawn and looking out at buildings rising up in the midst of cranes, yet surrounded by such history. Some of this inspiration made its way into some of the photos you will see on the blog.

Weddings like these are exactly the reason why I love being a London wedding photographer. Once I put aside the stress of parking, London traffic, the choking and smelly Underground system and unforgiving Traffic Wardens I look at wedding venues such Middle Temple and Coq D’argent and remember why I do it. These types of wedding venues are so unique the extra effort is worth it.

I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of Katie and Laurence’s wedding day and it was lovely to see them really start to relax as the day went on. I don’t think I’ll ever forget seeing Laurence do ‘his’ dance for Katie on the lawn of Coq D’Argent. I have photographic evidence on the blog.

Thank you both for asking me to photograph your wedding. I know how important the photos are for you and I hope you and your guests like them as much as I do. Your wedding was stylish, classy yet extremely fun, well done as that mix is not easy.

Also, it would be remiss of me not to thank my buddy John Erskine for all his help on the day. John is a very talented photographer who joins me at many of my weddings.
