The Ritz London Wedding Photographer – You only have the mention the name of The Ritz and already your mind is full of images of glamour and sophistication and of course The Ritz is all of these. It is the epitome of style and oozes decadence out of every inch. How could I resist therefore when Luciana and Sebastian asked me if I was free to become The Ritz Wedding Photographer.
Many guests have been seduced by this most fashionable of London addresses including Charlie Chaplin, Sir Winston Churchill, Judy Garland, Charles de Gaulle and even the Queen herself. As I entered the neoclassical building, I felt myself, not for the first time, becoming transfixed by its beauty and glamour too.
Lucien and Sebastian had chosen to hold the ceremony in the Marie Antoinette Suite which, as you would expect, is designed to emulate the Palace of Versailles and this it does to roaring success. The opulent decor was exquisite in its detailing and charm, lending itself perfectly to some of the most intricate of photo sessions. The challenge was not to let the majesty of the rooms detract from the beauty and joy of the wedded couple.
I was able to capture the grandeur of the rooms and character of the building which only served to highlight the simple yet quintessential refinement of the couple themselves. Knowing The Ritz as well as I do, I knew exactly what kind of shot I was aiming for and which angle to take it at. I hope that I succeeded in that instance and below is a selection of photos taken on the day.
