I remember walking into the Rosewood Hotel earlier this year with Abbie, Stuart and Abbie’s parents and thinking how on earth am I going to get time to photograph in all the locations that this incredible hotel has to offer. I literally could spend a weekend shooting there and I’m not sure if it would be enough time. We all shared a glass of red and discussed the wedding day, which at the time seemed like a lifetime away. It was great getting to know not only the bride and groom but also Abbies parents. Without doubt this was one of the most important days for the family and the wedding photography was a huge part of the day.
After being asked to photograph Abbie and Stuart’s wedding at the Rosewood Hotel I can hand on heart say that this is one of the most spectacular luxury hotels in the UK. From an observer of a wedding (photographer ;-)) I saw how well the day was run and how effortlessly the day flowed from bridal prep, through to the ceremony and on into the evening celebrations. Congratulations to the staff at the Rosewood Hotel for helping me create these wonderful memories.
Team Gomes Photography was made up of myself (obviously), my second photographer John Erskine and my assistant Soven Amatya, both pretty cool wedding photographers in their own right. Also both very familiar with how I work and the high standards I set for my couples.
The wedding ceremony was held in the Grand Ball Room which was later turned around to be the venue for the wedding breakfast. It was nice that at the end of the wedding ceremony the couple respected their Jewish faith by having a Jewish blessing, followed by the famous stamping on the glass by the groom. Later in the evening the couple did some Israeli dancing which, as a wedding photographer I love shooting. Getting stuck in and risking life and limb as men are thrown around like rag dolls, missing me by millimetres and often not missing me.
Thank you once again to John and Soven for helping me on the day. Also, it was great to work with such respectful and considerate videographers. Videographers who wanted to work together as a team in the couples interest. Danny and Nathan from Minty Slippers, it was a pleasure.
I’ve selected a few images from Abbie and Stuarts wedding at the Rosewood Hotel in London which I hope tells their story. Thank you to Abbie and Stuart, their family and friends for inviting me into their wedding day.
